救捞系统累计救助遇险人员超过90,000人
The reporter learned from the "Maritime Traffic Safety" thematic forum of the 2026 North Bund International Shipping Forum held on October 21 that, during the 75 years since its establishment, the maritime rescue and salvage system has formed a modern, professional rescue and salvage system that is comprehensive, operates around the clock, integrates marine and river capabilities, responds quickly, and handles efficiently. As of September 25 this year, the rescue and salvage system has rescued more than 90,000 people in distress, 5,726 vessels in distress, salvaged 1,923 sunken ships, and retrieved property valued at approximately 195.03 billion yuan.
The "Maritime Traffic Safety" thematic forum was jointly organized by the Ministry of Transport's Rescue and Salvage Bureau and Maritime Bureau, and co-hosted by the East China Sea Rescue Bureau and Shanghai Maritime Bureau. Focusing on the theme "Maintaining Innovation and Resilience for Long-Term Goals—Jointly Building a New Global Shipping Safety Line," the forum is rooted in the concept of a maritime community with a shared future and accelerating the building of a transportation power. It coordinates high-quality development and high-level safety, discussing topics such as the modernization of maritime rescue and salvage, integrated service guarantees for maritime supervision, international maritime rescue cooperation, and green intelligent shipping within the scope of global shipping development. The forum aims to jointly explore safer, smarter, and more efficient rescue development strategies and seek health-oriented sustainable development paths for the shipping industry.
The forum unveiled four major achievements: the digital intelligent safety operation control platform for maritime rescue flights, the Yangshan VTS Genie intelligent decision-support system, the critical technical equipment and engineering applications for deep-sea underwater emergency searching, and China's first set of fisheries-specific electronic charts implemented in large-scale applications. These outcomes provide robust support for enhancing maritime safety guarantees, promoting the green and intelligent transformation of shipping, and facilitating technological innovation cooperation between maritime rescue and maritime sectors.
