湖州797艘内河货船有了“生态身份证”
At the recent event in Huzhou, Zhejiang, where the "Ecological ID Card" for inland waterway shipping vessels and the carbon evaluation guidelines were released, the first batch of vessel carbon efficiency evaluation results was announced. Representatives of shipping companies were awarded the vessels' "Ecological ID Cards," marking the completion of evaluations for all 797 inland cargo vessels in the city, providing a unified basis for assessing vessel energy consumption and carbon emissions.
The newly released "Inland Waterway Shipping Carbon Efficiency Evaluation Guidelines" include inland cargo vessels registered in Huzhou within the evaluation scope. It classifies vessels into five carbon efficiency levels based on indicators such as total carbon emissions and carbon emission intensity per unit turnover. Annual evaluations and dynamic management are implemented. Among the 797 vessels evaluated, 44 are Level 1 vessels, and 399 are Level 2 vessels, accounting for approximately 55.6% in total.
The simultaneously released vessel "Ecological ID Card" implements a "one vessel, one code" system, consolidating basic vessel information, carbon efficiency levels, energy consumption emissions, and verified emission reduction records. Shipowners and relevant management departments can use this to query green and low-carbon information about vessels, providing data support for vessel upgrades, demonstration fleet cultivation, and green finance.
As a national demonstration zone for the transformation and development of inland waterway transportation, Huzhou has been continuously promoting the green transformation of inland vessels in recent years. The city has launched and operated 13 new energy vessels, with 25 under construction, and has three demonstration routes in regular operation. It has also released a carbon reduction accounting method for electric vessels. In May this year, Zhejiang's first electric vessel carbon inclusive trading was implemented in Huzhou, providing a practical case for realizing the value of vessel emission reductions.
At the event, the Yangtze River Delta Ecological Energy Carbon Sink Fund, the Regional Green Trading Center, and the Zhejiang Branch of China Classification Society jointly launched the "Action Initiative to Enhance Carbon Efficiency in Inland Waterway Shipping." The Huzhou Municipal Party School and Zhejiang University Huzhou Research Institute shared special topics on leading ecological civilization construction with carbon peaking and carbon neutrality and cutting-edge research on new energy vessels.
